Celebrate the New Year with Brooklyn Cheer

Lay local this New Year’s Eve and head to one of our top picks for the ideal Brooklyn bash to bring in 2016.

Entertaining events take over the Brooklyn Children’s Museum heading into 2016. The visiting exhibit “Heart and Seoul” will bring modern Korean to Brooklyn. Kids will learn what it’s like to grow up amongst Korean craft and culture. The exhibit will have you taking photos and saying, “kim-cheeze..!”

Brooklyn Children’s Museum will also hold a party hat-making workshop for kids between 2.5 to 5 years old whilst also learning about the cultural celebrations behind this holiday.

Finally kids will get the chance to explore beyond Brooklyn thanks to imaginative story telling at 11:30am.

Admission is free on Thursdays from 2pm to 6pm and $11 at all other times for those over the age of 12.

Beach for the stars in 2016

Coney Island will sparkle on New Year’s Eve thanks to a fireworks spectacular, 8,000 LED light show and Coney Island sideshow performers.

The action bursts out from 9pm with giveaways and performances under the Parachute Jump before the midnight fireworks display.

Admission is free to this family-friendly event.

 

Prospect Park Party

The iconic Grand Army Plaza New Year’s Eve Fireworks by Prospect Park includes free hot chocolate and live entertainment from DJ C-Live and Brooklyn Mash It Up Band. Locations for viewing the fireworks include Grand Army Plaza, the Park’s West Drive, and along Prospect Park West between Grand Army Plaza and 9th Street.

The action fires up from 11pm. Arrive early to nab a great spot. Don’t be leafed behind I’m the park.
